Puerto Rican–born, Brooklyn-raised, Hawai‘i-based. Fatima Negrón Santini writes and sings across rock, pop, Latin and contemporary Christian — percussion and dance woven through every set.
Fatima is of Puerto Rican descent — born in the Bronx and raised between Brooklyn, Rockaway Beach and Puerto Rico. Her childhood inside that culture gave her the hands of a conguera and an instinct for salsa rhythm long before she ever stepped on a stage.
That sense of rhythm carried her into dance: a scholarship with the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater in African, modern, ballet and jazz technique, followed by professional theatrical work across New York City and years teaching dance in New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Utah, California and Hawai‘i.
Musical theater is what pulled her toward her own voice and her own songs. She has sung in bands, competitions, hotels, weddings and boat tours from the East Coast and Puerto Rico out to the islands of Hawai‘i, where she now makes her home — writing and performing across rock, pop, contemporary Christian and Latin music.
